Religious Recognitions Program
Although we are a secular organization, Girl Scouts has always encouraged girls to take spiritual journeys. Our service unit is very fortunate to have Tara Mochizuki serving as our Religious Recognitions Program Leader in support of girls seeking this specialized opportunity within the Girl Scout Program.
We offer the following religious recognition programs in conjunction with national religious organizations to encourage girls to learn more about, and grow stronger in, their chosen faith:
-
Buddhist: Tara Mochizuki
-
Roman Catholic: Giselle Palacios-Delmundo
Visit the Girl Scouts and Faith page to learn more about GSUSA's religious recognitions program, or review the To Serve God (PDF) to learn about the awards available for girls to earn from various participating faith groups. Contact Tara Mochizuki for more information on earning any of these awards.

Girl Scout Sunday
San Francisco Girl Scouts celebrate and kick-off Girl Scout Week with Girl Scout Sunday annually at the Presidio's Interfaith Chapel. This annual SF Service Unit event also recognizes Girl Scouts who have earned a Religious Recognition Award and/or My Promise, My Faith pin.

My Promise, My Faith
Available to earn at all program levels, the My Promise, My Faith pin complements existing religious recognitions and further strengthens the connection between Girl Scouts and their faith. Requirements for this pin are included in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for all levels.
